I wonder if there is a John Kaltenbrunner somewhere .... what if this was someone's subtle plan to undo camorra's hold on the region. However it does not seem to work, as I read in the editorial page of the IHT today.

I grew up in Illinois, and it might as well have been "Baker". Egolf's fantastic, but he's deadly accurate in his portrayal of the "corn belt" and the people that live here. I knew a lot of "John Ks" - equally dismal circumstances - most of them ended up in prison.
